The self-rescuer is designed to protect the respiratory organs, eyes and head of a person from the effects of toxic combustion products, including carbon monoxide, other chemically hazardous substances and particles in the form of smoke, dust, fog generated during fires, and is used when the concentration of oxygen in the environment is at least 17%.
